Postdoctoral Recruitment Notice of Center for Teacher Education Research of Beijing Normal University Introduction

 

Center for Teacher Education Research of Beijing Normal University Key Research Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences for Universities, Ministry of Education (Institute of Teacher Education, Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University) was established in November 2004 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is the only national key research institute engaged in teacher education research. As a national key research institute, the Center takes the major responsibilities for talent cultivation, academic research, policy consultation and practice exploration.

 

The 2020 Postdoctoral program of The Research Center for Teacher Education of Beijing Normal University has been launched. We warmly welcome outstanding doctors from home and abroad to come to our center for postdoctoral research.

Applicants need to do literature and theoretical construction research on teacher education quality from a multidisciplinary perspective

Applicant who have a discipline background, research experience, solid theoretical, academic, and research skills related to the direction of teacher education research and has authored many high-quality research papers are preferred.

Teacher education evaluation study

Applicants need to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis methods to engage in teacher training quality index system and measurement evaluation

The applicant who has teacher education research experience and related research results. Applicants who obtained their PhD from well-known overseas universities are preferred.

Dealing with longitudinal quantitative research design, research tool design, sampling design, statistics analysis, and research report writing

Teacher Learning Laboratory Project

Based on teacher learning laboratory, the candidates are expecting to explore teacher behavioral, psychological, as well as neuroscientific conditions of pre-service, in-service and teacher educators, those who are working in the lab.

For those candidates who have experience of teacher research, whose background is psychology and/or neuroscientific, those who have high-quality products, and who are graduate from high-rank universities are prioritized.

The candidates are expected to design, develop and implement teacher embodied learning activities, and simultaneously conducting teacher research, such as teacher knowledge, teacher beliefs, professional cognition, professional identify, teacher agency, etc.

System Construction of Quality Assurance for Teacher Education

Research topics: Accreditation for teacher education programs; Teacher educators’ quality assurance; Selection quality students into teacher education programs; quality assurance for teacher education curriculum; quality assurance for practicum; quality assurance for student teachers’ learning.

Case studies

  1. Pick up some countries as cases to study their own internal quality assurance for teacher education.

Pick up some teacher education programs as cases to study their own quality assurance.

Major: teacher education, curriculum and instruction, pre-school education, elementary education;

Be good at conducting qualitative research including designing, collecting and analyzing data, and writing papers;

Be good at writing literature reviews.

Research on Teacher Leadership and teacher learning in cross regional education group 

Responsibility

 Develop research questions based on the specific cross regional education group cases

Minimum/Required Qualifications

                    PhD degree

                    Experience in conducting research from both quantitative and qualitative approach

                    Proficiency in designing research from both approach and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data;

                    Can write manuscripts based on data analysis.

Preferred qualifications:

 Candidates with Education management, preschool education, teacher education and other related discipline background or work experience in the above field;

 Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others

· Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English

Recruitment Category:

  1. Li Yun Postdoctoral Project:

The high-end postdoctoral project focused building by Beijing Normal University is mainly funded by the school.

  1. Category A Postdoctoral Applicants:

Applicants who meet the evaluation requirements of each employer's station for entering the station and promise to meet the evaluation requirements of each employer's station for standing out the station. The salary and welfare expenses of the post-doctoral applicants in Class A would be borne by the school and the CTER.

  1. Category B Postdoctoral Applicants:

Applicants must meet the country's basic requirements for postdoctoral selection. Applicants will be self-financed by the CTER and cooperative advisor according to the needs of scientific research project construction and other needs.

 

Remuneration:

1. The pretax annual pension is RMB300,000 of Li Yun's post-doctoral project. If the applicant was selected into the "International Exchange Program" introduction project and "post-doctoral innovative talent support plan" of the National Post-Doctoral Management Committee, the pretax annual pension would be raised to RMB 350,000. In addition, a housing rental allowance of RMB 50,000 / year is provided. The applicant also can enjoy benefits related to housing, children's enrollment, post-doctoral exit exchange program, and scientific research performance rewards.

2. Category A postdoctoral pretax annual pension is RMB 180,000.

3. The post-doctoral remuneration standard for Category B is determined by the applicant in consultation with the co-advisor and CTER and is reported to the school for the record.
