With a commitment to upholding the principles set forth in the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and recognizing the strategic need to contribute to the high-quality training and development of teachers, as well as the strengthening of educational exchanges and cooperation between Beijing and Hong Kong, the "Hong Kong New Teachers Mainland Learning Group" program was organized by Beijing Normal University and hosted by the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. The program took place from May 15th to 18th at Beijing Normal University, where it received a dignified reception.
The main objective of this initiative, led by our center, was to design and implement a series of activities aimed at providing Hong Kong's young teachers with a firsthand experience of China's economic and cultural advancements, as well as the achievements made in the reform of basic education. By doing so, we sought to establish a platform for fostering high-caliber teaching professionals between Beijing and Hong Kong, ultimately promoting the high-quality development of education in both regions.
This endeavor aligns with the broader strategic goal of advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and aligning with the significant strategic decisions made by the central government in relation to the work carried out in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The focus of the program was on facilitating educational exchanges and cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, with the shared objective of building a collaborative platform for dialogue and knowledge sharing.
Moving forward, the Center for Teacher Education Research of Beijing Normal University remains dedicated to further enhancing its expertise in the field of teacher education. Leveraging the unique advantages offered by our "one body with two wings" approach to education, we are committed to upholding the school motto of " Learn, so as to instruct others. Act, to serve as example to all. " as we actively advance the coordinated development of education between Beijing and Hong Kong. Our aim is to propel the modernization of education and contribute to the cultivation of highly competent educators.
