Orientation Session

On the evening of September 15th, CTER-BNU held its orientation session in the Binglin Auditorium. During the session, Dean Yuan Li introduced the general overview of CTER, while Vice Dean Ye Jiuyan explained the training programs and requirements to the new students.

Mentor Meeting

Teachers are like lights, like torches; they light the way through obscurity, illuminating the path and guiding the journey. They warm confusion into clarity, giving wings to ideals. Every step of the trek is watched over by a warm glow. CTER organized a meeting for new students to meet their mentors, lighting the way for the newcomers' futures.

Gift Presentation

Each word condenses a teacher's intent, gently passed along the new journey. Palms hold unspoken words, folding the warmth of early autumn into the creases of the gifts. Representatives of the center's faculty presented academic works by the center's teachers to representatives of the new students.

Speeches by Faculty and Students

Professor Zhu Xudong, Director of the Faculty of Education and Head of CTER:

The cultivation of innovative talent is inseparable from a high-quality, innovative teaching force. I hope everyone will not only consistently use the standard of the "Four Good Teachers" as a mirror, often reflecting on and examining themselves, continuously honing their professional ethics and capabilities, but also dare to look up at the stars, set long-term aspirations, and strive to grow into "teachers of teachers" who can cultivate outstanding educators, injecting more strength into the development of education.

Specially Appointed Senior Chair Professor Leslie   N.K. LO:

Holding to the original aspiration for scholarship is key for teacher education to go far under the backdrop of artificial intelligence. On the academic path, the foremost principle is to adhere to the standard of "genuine people seeking truth," facing confusion and tasks in research with an honest, autonomous attitude to explore. It is also necessary to commit to hard work, sediment thought, clarify direction, and hone solid, genuine academic skills. May everyone hold to their original aspiration, refine their abilities, shoulder academic responsibility, and pass on the torch of education.

Vice Dean Ye Jiuyan of the Institute of Teacher Education:

Gong Chen, 2025 Doctoral Student Majoring in Teacher Education:

I hope that under the intellectual guidance and careful instruction of the center's faculty, I can immerse myself in intensive reading of classics, focus my efforts on research, and continuously refine my thinking. Grounded in solid scholarship, I aim to innovatively address real-world problems with rigorous academic thinking, striving to transform from a knowledge recipient into a knowledge creator and a leader in teacher education reform. Ultimately, I wish to contribute my share of strength to building a strong educational nation, developing a strong teaching force, cultivating top-notch innovative talent, and constructing an independent knowledge system for education with Chinese characteristics.

Today we learn how to educate others; in the coming year and future, we will educate others on how to learn. A good life begins with research. If life is a wilderness, then each fulfilling day of life here might be a unique field study. So let's take action together, starting right here and now.

New branches grow on the pines, new light shines from the moon.
New doors open on the research journey.
