PANG Lijuan

Professor Pang's research focuses on basic education policy, early childhood education law and policy, and teacher development and policy.

Professor Pang Lijuan currently holds a number of prestigious positions, including member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC Standing Committee) and member of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee of the NPC. She also serves as a National Inspector, President of the China National Committee of the World Organization for Early Childhood Education (OMEP), and Vice President of the China National Society of Early Childhood Education. In addition, she is Vice President of the Beijing Federation of Social Science Circles (BFSSC). At Beijing Normal University, she is the Vice Director of the University Council and Vice Dean of the China Education Policy Research Institute.

Prof. Pang has received numerous national accolades. In 1997, she was selected by the Ministry of Education as one of the first “Cross-Century Outstanding Talents.” She became a member of the Ninth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in 1998. In 1999, she was awarded the State Council Special Allowance. She was subsequently elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for the 10th, 11th, and 12th terms (2003, 2008, 2013). In 2004, she was recognized as a national-level candidate for the “New Century Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Project” by the Ministry of Personnel, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Education.
